Feeding & Handling
May 2019
Integrating automatic feeding & handling as well as orientation systems for even the most fragile of parts allows for high speed and high volume reliability, minimal changeover and almost eliminates production downtime, giving production a competitive edge.
Feeding & Handling
SP Automation & Robotics integrates a wide range of both linear and conveyor feed systems, hopper and elevator systems and bowl and centrifugal feeders. High-volume production can be automated efficiently with high-speed automated part handling. Over the years, we have built up a reputation in the automation and parts handling industry due to our wealth of experience working with such a diverse range of industries, including automotive, pharma, medical, electronics, packaging, food and beverage, plastics, munitions and cosmetics. Giving them a competitive advantage with automation and providing them with the most robust and reliable equipment on the market.

Feeder Types
Vibratory Bowl Feeders
- Custom designed and tooled
- Standard, off-the-shelf equipment
- Cost-efficient drive technology
- Compact design
- Low noise level
Linear Feeders
Vibratory linear feeders enable linear sorting and orientating. Misorientated components are returned to pre-feeders via a chute and vibration tray. In addition to the horizontal conveying of components, vibratory linear feeders can be used to handle irregular component parts from upstream equipment, creating a buffer store and smooth flow for further processes.
Centrifugal Feeders
- High feed rates
- Gentle handling of component parts
- Suitable for complicated parts
- Less Maintenance
- Quiet
- Quick Changeover
- Adjustable tooling
Step Feeders
Step feeders (ST) are perfectly suitable for component parts with small details. They are easy to retool and have variable speeds.
The component parts are collected from the hopper by elevating plates, pre-sorted and fed until they reach the desired transfer height. The key feature of the step feeder is that it operates quietly and without vibration. The step feeder can be adapted and integrated with multi-lane tracks to meet your needs.
- Adjustable conveying speeds
- Easy retooling
- Quiet Operation
- Gentle Part Handling
- Durable
